Who wants to be famous?

As you may or may not know, I have a new blog. I have really started to ramp up and get the posts out for 1979 Topps. I think the post are of decent quality, and they are coming on a fairly consistent basis. I'm still trying to get the readership up, but I also want to give back to the blog community. Starting with my last post last night, I decided to give someone else some pub. Here is my question to you or tell your friends. Do you have a favorite team, or player from cards like these?

If you would like to be a part of the 1979 experience, let me know. I do know that there are some bloggers that are fans of certain teams, so we may have to alternate fame for those blogs as their teams come up. I hope that everyone would like to be part of this, and will join in. You can leave me comments here, or go and check out the home of cardboard from 33 years ago.

  1. I've enjoyed following along with your 1979 Topps blog so far.

Obviously, my favorite team would be the Phillies and my favorite (non-Burger King) Phillies card is Larry Bowa's.

    Keep up the great work!

  2. My favorite '79 Dodger card is the Bob Welch rookie card.

Probably the first and last time I flipped out over a rookie card. But he did strikeout Reggie Jackson in the World Series the previous October!

  3. As you know, my favorite team is the Angels. I'd have to go with Nolan Ryans card from that set as my favorite.

  4. dodger fan here. i appreciate the fact that this set gave us our only solo lance rautzhan card and that steve garvey's got a 5 oclock shadow on his card.

my favorite o-pee-chee variation from this set is rod carew's, if you care to plug my other blog

also, the 1979 pirates will be featured at some point on the timeless teams blog with blyleven, madlock, garner and parker being the players featured in that set.

i look forward to revisiting this set through your posts.

  5. The 1979 blog is great. Awesome idea on linking in other blogs. Favorite team: Texas Rangers. Favorite player: Jon Matlack. Thanks!

  6. Love this blog too - favorite team is the Orioles, player is Eddie Murray!
