I feel like the King but in a good way. You see there was a definite theme to the few gifts I got for Christmas this year. I had a very BLUE Christmas but it all was to my liking. I just might be ready for the game on New Year's Day.
GO BLUE!!!!

Completion, and coming soon...
First, I want to throw out a couple of thank yous to some guys for cards. The first goes out to Jeff of 2x3 Heroes. I put up the last post asking for someone to help me find a man in my life. Jeff stepped and brought me Kevin Millwood to complete me. OK, maybe he helped me complete the 2012 Topps I needed.
The next would go to what I hope is a new reader in Michael. I recently saw a post on Wrigley Wax about a big old box of cards he got from reader named Michael. Michael was kind enough to send me the one card out of the Heritage high # set of Hisashi Iwakuma. While it's not a set I collect, I'm always open to new M's cards.
My last thanks goes out to my main Michigan man Dennis of Too Many Verlanders. While I was at odds with him for a few days while I was rooting for the Giants in the World Series, we never disagree on our love for the Wolverines. Dennis was cleaning out some cards, and I claimed his Mariners. In that stack I found two 1998, and one 1999 Fleer card to help shave down the Mariners Super Set. GO BLUE!!
The final thing to chew on, is the coming soon. Coming soon will be a new and updated wants list of each maker for the Super Set. I know that I am down to needing less than 200 cards from all 5 of the big company's base and traded sets over the years. I'm really hoping that after the holidays, I can work on getting this thing done, hopefully during Spring Training and before the season starts so I can focus on the 2013 cards. I know it can be done, because all you wonderful guys and ladies out ther have helped me so well before.

Perfect Season Denied!!
I will be at work today because of not working on the holiday and won't get to watch the game live. I think this is a true statement of what this game will mean this year and moving forward:
I think with Coach Hoke and that guy in the red coat will become like the legend of Bo and Woody from back in the day. My prediction for the game:

Hail to the Victors! A cup full of Apples!
While I have to spend most of my day at work today, my mind will be on football. The game I will miss seeing live will be this one:
I think you all know by now where my loyalties lie. If you don't, let me help you with this one. I like two colors in this game, and they AIN'T scarlet and gray, they are Maize&Blue!!
The other game is should be home in time for. It is a Washington home game, but it's being played at Seahawks Stadium.
When it comes to this game and any other sports in Washington, I bleed Purple and Gold baby! Go Dawgs!!
I hope if your team is playing today, they win. If your team is Ohio State or Washington State, then I hope you get spanked.

Past, present, and the future
It is amazing to think where we have been, where we are, and where we are headed. In 10 years so many things have changed. I think it was great that many schools decided to do a tribute of some kind to the innocent victims of ten years ago. The University of Washington did a one time helmet change for yesterday.
The NFL finally decided to relent and let players wear special gear to honor those lost today, but originally was going to fine players for wearing unauthorized equipment.
I wonder we go from here. Will we ever know the full and true facts of what happened that day. I am by no weans a conspiracy theorist, but I have seen and read many things on it, and it makes me question the accurateness of all the reports we here. This might be the most bizarre case of all- READ ME. I don't know what to make of it. Let's not forget as the NFL starts up this weekend, the man who walked away from the sport, and did what he felt was right.
Thanks to my boys in blue in Ann Arbor for taking ten years off my life by giving me a heart attack in the 4th quarter of this historic game last night.
Thank you to all that have served this country, all that are out there today defending us, and to all that lost thier live ten years ago today for no reason and were taken away from us.

Don't follow me
If you like order and direction this may not be your post today. First, let's start with the debacle at Safeco last night. It looked like the Everett AquaSox were playing the Indians last night, not the Mariners. Come on guys, you lose 12-1 in your home opener? Sad way to play last night. Also last night, the Mariners re-introduced the "green" alternate jersey. I'm sorry, but it's more of an electric blue to me. Here's the new one:
And here is a pic of them back in 1995 looking much more teal to me:
Speaking of good looking uniforms, I like the fact that the Angels wore their older looks for the home opener. In honor of their 50th year, I think they should wear these all year.
Also a big congratulations goes out to a great team guy. Chipper Jones got his 2500th hit in the Braves home opener last night. Great accomplishment for a great guy named Larry.
A big sigh of relief I'm sure is being breathed in Tampa Bay. It only took a week in the season, but the Rays have rid themselves of Manny. He abruptly retires when there's a chance he gets popped a second time for 'roids. I think it is good for the game that these guys get weeded out and we back to playing the game the right way. Bye bye Manny, don't come back with your lame act.
Nice job by the Red Sox to get off the losing pile with a win against the Yankees. Lord knows the NY fans would have continued to pound you if you lost again.
Good luck to the Wolverines today. The Michigan hockey team will go for the Championship today against Minnesota-Duluth.
I don't get to watch much college hockey since it's never on TV, but I will watch the Frozen Four and root for my team if they are in it. GO BLUE!!
Finally, good luck to my son's baseball team today. We might actually get a game in today. Only two games played and five rain outs. Let's win a game and play hard today boys. GO RAINIERS!!

Thank you Santa!
I found out from my mailbox yesterday that Santa lives in Michigan. Dennis, the fine proprietor of Too Many Grandersons sent a small package to me. Inside said bubble mailer was many of my new favorite cards. The piece de resistance was the card that doubled my relic/auto collection of Tony Gwynn cards from 0 to 1.
Also Dennis was nice enough to send along these eight beauties from the great #19.
And because he knows that I am Mariner fan at heart, Dennis sent some 1983 Topps Mariners, 1982 Topps, and these two gems from the 2008 Trading Card History set. I really like the look of Felix on an '86 style.
Thanks again to Santa in Ann Arbor. I hope that everyone I sent out Christmas cards to, received their cards without too much hassle and enjoyed them. To all my friends in the blog world, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. Enjoy your day, and enjoy your family. Family and friends are the most important things in life.
P.S. Santa in Michigan, can you deliver this team to a win a week from today in the Gator Bowl? I would appreciate that very much. Go Blue!!
